TYLER, TX (KLTV) - An autopsy conducted Monday morning on an East Texas man found dead in his apartment has determined Patrick Pinkerton died from stab wounds to the neck area.

This morning, a person called to report finding Pinkerton's red 1998 Honda Passport in the Hollandale Terrace Apartments at 502 W. Houston Street.

Tyler Police tell us a call came into them about 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning, saying someone had found 42-year-old Pinkerton dead.

Officers were dispatched to the Vine Terrace Apartments on West Shaw Street in Tyler.

Police say Pinkerton's exact cause of death has not been determined. His body has been sent for an autopsy. We're told there were no signs of forced entry into the apartment. So, investigators believe Pinkerton knew his killer.

"We've got individuals we'd like to talk to," said Tyler Police spokesperson Sergeant Russell Jacks. "At this point, we haven't identified any firm suspects in the case. We're just at the preliminary stages of the investigation at this point."

Pinkerton was last seen alive around 1:00am, Sunday. One of his friends found him dead on a bedroom floor around 10:00am Sunday.
