LINDALE, TX - Ten outstanding Lindale students and the extraordinary teachers that inspired their eagerness to learn will be recognized next week by the Lindale ISD Education Foundation.

The first Academic Excellence Recognition Banquet will be held next Tuesday, May 19th at 6:30 p.m. at the Hide-A-Way Lake Lodge.  The theme for the banquet is "Celebrating Our Stars."

"These students have been the star students for the past four years," foundation board member and Lindale Superintendent Stan Surratt said. "It is going to be a great night for Lindale ISD to recognize these stars as well as their teachers."

The students recognized are ranked as the top ten graduating seniors of Lindale High School's 2009 class. Each student picked one teacher they felt had the biggest and the most positive impact on their educational careers to be recognized alongside them.

The Lindale ISD Education Foundation was founded in August 2008. The organization's goal is to support the Eagle's tradition of academic excellence, by encouraging and rewarding innovation in the classroom through educational enrichment opportunities for students and faculty.

"Academics are a high priority for Lindale ISD," foundation secretary Carolyn Todd said. "So we are delighted to honor our top ten students and the teachers who were most influential in their quest for learning. We are extremely proud of the students and their commitment to excellence."
