More West Nile Cases

Two more West Nile Virus cases have been found in animals in Smith County. A horse pastured off Parker Road, and a donkey kept off FM 1253 near Lindale, were found to have the virus.

Symptoms in a horse or donkey may include a drooping lip, excitability, a change in gait and muscle twitching. And even though the weather has turned cooler, you still need to stay on guard for mosquitoes who are carriers of the West Nile Virus. The cooler weather makes mosquitoes less active, but they will still be in the environment.
