KILGORE, TX (KLTV) - We love hearing about East Texans who are quietly doing their part to make our community a better place. Such is the example ofAngela McCaskill, a nursing student at Kilgore College, who is already helping those in need, even before she receives her degree.
Last November, Angela headed up a food and clothing drive for the Kilgore Crisis Center, recruiting nursing students and teachers to give generously. In January, she was so touched by the patients she met at Rusk State Hospital she organized a book, magazine, and puzzle drive for those patients. Most recently, Angela helped a fellow nursing student organize a bake sale, raising more than one $1,000 for March of Dimes.
Angela's lifelong dream of becoming a nurse is getting closer. But her passion for giving isn't one that is learned in school. It is truly a gift of her heart. This month we recognize Angela McCaskill as our Everyday Hero, for not only giving back to the community but inspiring others to do the same.
Thanks Angela, for doing your part to make this a better East Texas.
