EAST TEXAS (KLTV) -  We have four new "Cheap Eats" for you; beginning with a filling south-of-the-border option.

Just off Highway 31, El Paisano welcomes hungry customers offering a menu with more than a few options. Home of the $20 burrito, I went for the restaurant's lunch deal and snuck into the back to watch it come together. Bringing their "Cheap Eat" out I was convinced it would fill the emptiest of stomachs with chips and salsa, steak fajitas, beans and rice for $4.32.

Just a stone's throw away I gave Eat a Bite BBQ a try and got quite a welcome and my next great deal.

"I'm glad y'all stopped in because I said that I wanted to do this and here y'all are so I'm gonna run this $5 special for anyone who wants to stop in because I'm just tryin' to grow," said restaurant owner, Rayshawn Thompson.

Making the BBQ magic happen Thompson did his best to carry on his grandfather's BBQ legacy. Being a master of the chop, he put together quite a sandwich, serving up chopped beef on a bun, chips and a can drink for $5 even. It is a "Cheap Eat" that seemed to go over well with the customers.

"[It's] pretty good," said one customer. "I like this."

Following a tip, I stopped by the Old Brick Creamery in Gilmer. Inside I found the best of both worlds, with a bookstore and a deli. Scanning the menu I chose the chicken salad sandwich. They brought it to my table and I snagged the sandwich, chips, pickle, and a drink for only $4.60.

Last, but far from least, I gave Shiver's a shot in Gladewater. Pulling into the drive thru I was immediately taken care of.

"Welcome to Shiver's," said the drive thru attendant. "What can I do ya for?"

I gave my order to owner Charlotte Pierce and let her do what she does best. It didn't take long to whip it up in the back and she handed my precious cargo over.

I got a Dr. Pepper and a hot link on a bun for $2.50 making it this "Cheap Eats" winner.
