MINEOLA, TX (KLTV) - Authorities have arrested two people who they believe may be responsible for more than 40 pharmacy break-ins in East Texas and Louisiana over the past year.
According to Capt. Joyce Box with the Mineola Police Department, 25-year-old Delia Lemos of Greenville and 18-year-old Danile Ortiz of Fort Worth were arrested Sunday night following the burglary of the Medicine Chest in Mineola.
Mineola police spotted the suspects' vehicle on Highway 80. A short pursuit ensued around the loop in Mineola before the two were taken into custody. Authorities also believe the suspects may have robbed Mabile's Corner Pharmacy in Cosuhatta, Louisiana Sunday morning, hours before the Mineola break in Sunday night.
The Texas Rangers have been investigating the pharmacy burglaries in East Texas.
