WINNSBORO, TX (KLTV) - As of now, an East Texas woman remains hospitalized, in critical condition. Friends are praying for a miracle and for justice to be served.

"[She was] definitely too young for what has happened to her," said a friend of the family.

Friends and police say 24-year old Anna-Marie Moore is an innocent victim. She was at home with family about 7:30 Saturday night, when several suspects drove by, firing two rounds into the home with a high-powered rifle.

"One of the rounds went in through the wall, went through the sofa, the wooden part of the sofa and hit her in the back of the head," said Winnsboro Police Chief, J.L. Miller. "She was sitting on the sofa. Children were playing right there in the living room also."

Co-workers told us Anna-Marie is a wonderful mother.

For her protection, a friend did not want to be identified, but tells us she ran over immediately after hearing the gunshots; all to find a tragic scene.

"I didn't know there was more than one kid in there," said the friend. "I just knew I heard a kid screaming and so it's very sad for that little girl. It breaks my heart for her."

"It's really sad," said Valerie Clark, a neighbor. "[I] just feel bad for the little girl and their family."

Police said a surveillance video from a nearby school shows the suspect's car driving away after the shooting. It is a white Pontiac with tinted windows.

"I hope that they can catch these guys because she didn't deserve this," said the unidentified friend. "She's just a normal mom and wife and so it's really upset everybody in the neighborhood."

Authorities said they have persons of interest. While they continue their investigation, family and friends are praying for a miracle.

Winnsboro police say, right now, the suspects are facing aggravated assault charges. However, if Anna-Marie does not make it, they will be upgraded to homicide.
