Posted by Ellen Krafve - email

TIMPSON, TX (KLTV) - In the Timpson Animal Neglect Investigation in Shelby County a menagerie of animals, including dogs and horses, are in need of food and medical attention. The SPCA, Houston branch is agreeing to help.

The agency is expected to pick the animals up soon. The animals' caretaker, who was stranded a the property, was picked up by friends last week. The SPCA is still waiting for local authorities to obtain needed legal documents. Meanwhile, the caretaker had numerous animals of her own. This weekend she agreed to find other homes for them.

"[I took care of] twelve dogs and 22 puppies," said Marian Feinauer, the former caretaker. "[It is] very hard. Some of these, I've had for several years, so it's hard to let 'em go."

At this point, no criminal charges have been filed against the animal owners or the caretaker. The owner's husband was previously convicted of animal neglect and abandonment in Florida back in 2000.
