Many East Texans spent the evening giving so others may have a meal this Thanksgiving holiday.
Donations were made today to the 18th annual Longview Canned Food Drive.
Many businesses and individuals made donations of Thanksgiving fixen's at the Maude Cobb Activity Center from 3-to-8 p.m. this evening.
Workers and givers alike say they are thankful they could give back to the community.
"It's a wonderful feeling to get out here and work. To know helping people in the community and people in need. I think you get more out of it than just a little work," says volunteer Betty Horaney.
Dee Hunt donated food, "I just think it's a good thing for those that don't have as much as I do. And I'm just anxious to share."
More than 1,200 East Texas families will benefit from today's food drive.
