Tyler police explorers place in state competition

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Tyler Police Department Explorer Post 310 traveled to the University of Texas, Dallas in Richardson, TX to participate in the Texas Law Enforcement Explorer Advisor Association State Competition.  They brought home some top honors.

There were six Explorers that attended the competition.  They are Post Lieutenant Jonathan Daille (TJC), Sgt. Seana Hicks (Bullard High School), Travis Baggett (Whitehouse High School), Alex Bennett (Malakoff High School), Jazmin De Nova (Robert E. Lee High School) and Daniel Sierra.  The team competed in four events, Robbery in Progress, Call for Service, Bomb Threat Response and Misdemeanor Traffic Stop.  The team placed in three events:

Misdemeanor Traffic Stop: 1st Place
Robbery in Progress: 2nd Place
Bomb Threat Response: 3rd Place

Jazmin De Nova and Daniel Seirra also competed in the Top Dog Fitness competition.  Jazmin was awarded 2nd place in the female category.

The Explorer program is for youth interested in a career in law enforcement.
