Tyler, Tx (KLTV) - A rough day of fishing had anglers fighting the wind and the fish, and Lake Palestine won.
The final day of the Under Armor College Bass West Super Regional saw the winning team bag only nine pounds on the day, but it was enough to win.
The team of Zach Caudle and Joe Landry, from LSU-Shreveport, took home the title, their first ever as a fishing team.
"I am so excited," said Landry, "We have never fished this lake [Lake Palestine] and we did not catch any keepers during our practice, so maybe this is showing what we are going wrong in practice."
The biggest bag of the day came from the Stephen F. Austin team of Aaron Newsome and Kyle Turner, who pulled in just under eleven pounds.
"It was rough," said Newsome, "But we had the chances to catch alot more, we just did not, so all we can do is the best we can, and try to represent our school with pride."
All together, the top five finishers will take home nearly 11,000 dollars in prizes.
