Going on a "treasure" hunt

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - As they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure, and that is particularly true on Highway 80 this weekend. That's because for the next three days you can check out the 7th annual Highway 80 Garage Sale. It's 392 miles of garage sales from Mesquite, Texas to Jackson, Mississippi.

We gave our reporter a pretty tough scavenger hunt list. They sell everything from handmade items to rare antiques. Which was a blessing because my scavenger hunt list from the home office had some wacky items on it: A member's only jacket, ugly brides-maid dress, an alarm clock with flip down numbers, a See N Say or Speak and Spell, anything Mr. T, a Kenny Rogers album or eight-track and an Adam West style batman mask?!

It was tough, but I went for it!

I didn't find it all, but I did find a TV encyclopedia, Mr. T and a man who looked like Kenny Rodgers. Does that count? Yep, I think it does!

The sale continues from dawn until sunset on Saturday and Sunday.
