Tail light out, 97 grams of cocaine found

LONGVIEW, TX - When police pulled over a man for a routine traffic stop the last thing they expected was for him to run away.

Longview police pulled over a gray Cadillac on Morgan Street at MLK Boulevard for not having any tail lights. Once the driver stopped on Dean Street he jumped out of his car and ran.

Longview Officers chased the driver for several blocks before capturing him on Oneal Street.  The suspect was identified as Kelton Muckleroy and officers located a small amount of marijuana in his pants pocket and a large amount of crack cocaine in a plastic bag that Muckleroy had dropped on the ground while being pursued. In addition, over $2000.00 in cash and additional quantities of pre-packaged cocaine were found in Muckleroy's Cadillac.

A total of 97 grams of crack cocaine were seized as a result of the traffic stop.

Kelton Muckleroy was transported to the Gregg County Jail where he was booked for delivery of a controlled substance (1


degree felony), evading arrest (Class B misdemeanor), possession of marijuana (Class B misdemeanor) and an outstanding parole violation warrant from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for assault on a peace officer.
