TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Law enforcement officials have confirmed a tornado touched down near the small cass county town of Hughes Springs.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but as you can imagine it was a very scary night for those who lived through it.

Danny Lancaster says his wife was standing at the front door and noticed a funny looking cloud. He told her, "that's the closest you're going to see a tornado without it being on the ground".

That's when he knew he and his wife had to get to safety.

Danny says they hid in their bathroom and waited,

"It was a real high pitch noise, and i really thought when we came out, the roof would be off the house."

The Lancaster's are lucky, but they did suffer some damage. The tornado busted out their windows.

And down the street at his daughter's house... Danny says there was even more damage. The strong winds moved her storage shed 30 feet from where it stood.

And, that's not all. A trampoline ended up in a tree. Authorities say they won't know the extent of the damage until morning.

In Harrison County, the storms blew a tree onto a home. That happened one mile north of highway 449 on highway 450 that's midway between Harelton and Hallsville.

The fallen tree also damaged a fence. The homeowners were not home at the time. Many small trees fell across roads in the little cypress creek basin. There were also some power outages reported in the area.
