LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - KLTV 7 Sports has confirmed that Pine Tree athletic director Tim Russell submitted his resignation to the school district.

Russell told KLTV 7 Sports Director Maya Golden he was not forced into the move, it was a personal decision.

"I will still be coaching but I am not at liberty to say where I am going," Russell said. "I just felt like the timing for Pine Tree would be better so they could get someone else in to work with the kids now. I just felt it was time to go in different direction. I love Pine Tree, love the community. I am really going to miss the kids."

Russell spent four years at Pine Tree as athletic director and football coach.
