TYLER/LINDALE, TX (KLTV) - If it's spring, it's prom season, but this year's economic recession everyone is finding ways and places to cut back.

Some young ladies and families are turning to East Texas resale and consignment shops to find great deals on their dresses.

Prom isn't cheap. When you factor in $50-$60 for hair, $60 for nails (that's hands and feet), $50+ for shoes, $10-$100 for jewelry and add in a $200-$300 dress, it all adds up.

I was able to find a dress for $25, which is serious savings any prom goer can appreciate.

Local resale shops say their business has doubled since last year. They attribute that to the economy.
