ATHENS, TX (KLTV) - Two East Texas pets are in need of a home tonight.

They can bathe themselves and can eat right out of your hand, but there's just one catch, they weight about 500 pounds each. Their names are Fred and Dash and believe it or not they used to be small. Family pets for the past three years, Alaina Paul has helped care for her two favorite feral hogs whose future is now uncertain. Divorcing her husband in December she was left to care for the animals, a task that's hardly small. Unable to maintain their pen, what used to be her husband's job, Paul said she just wants to keep her two babies from becoming dinner.

"I need to have them go to a good home," she said. "I don't think they deserve to be supper because they're good pets."

Paul doesn't know how much longer she'll be able to take care of Fred and Dash, but she knows this if you would like to take care of them they're a package deal contact news@kltv.com to find out how to adopt them.
