LONGVIEW, TX - Early Saturday morning, Longview Police responded to a 9-1-1 call for help. The caller told dispatchers that someone had broken into their home and was possibly still there.

Officers arrived and met with the homeowner on Fairview Drive who told officers that an unknown man entered his home while he and his family were asleep. The homeowner reported that the suspect assaulted his 11-year-old granddaughter, causing her minor injuries and then fled. Officers searched the home for the suspect, but did not locate him. Longview Officers canvassed the area and spoke with anyone who was a potential witness to the burglary. The Gregg County Sheriff's Department assisted by searching the area and Longview Police Detectives responded to the scene to search for evidence.

The suspect is described as a white male, 25-30 years of age, with short dark colored hair, pale skin and a thin build. The suspect was wearing a dark colored t-shirt and was carrying a backpack.
