East Texas College Raises Money for UNCF

College students needing a little extra help financially, could soon be getting scholarships, thanks to a national organization.

It was a day full of music, fun, and fundraising at Jarvis Christian College Thursday, all for the United Negro College Fund. College co-eds say U.N.C.F. brings opportunities to those here in East Texas.

"We're here to raise money for the United Negro College Fund, so that eventually, the money we raise will go toward the U.N.C.F. And will eventually come back to the school to help students, said Jarvis student, Season Williams.

The United Negro College Fund goal for Jarvis Christian College is to raise $90,000. For every dollar raised by students and the college, the U.N.C.F. could match it six to one.
