Pettigrew eyeing the NFL Draft

Stillwater, OK (KLTV/KOKH) - While most of the sports world turns it attention to the start of the MLB season, in just weeks, the NFL draft will determine the future of hundreds of college football players.

Former Lee tight end Brandon Pettigrew is one of them.

Pettigrew is considered by many to be the top tight end in the draft, but lost some of his luster after running a sub-par 40-yard-dash at the NFL combine.

Pettigrew spoke with reporters over the weekend, "I am happy with where I am at."

"I have had several teams work me out, and I think I have done all that I can do, now we just have to sit and wait."

The draft is set for April 25th and 26th, although Pettigrew is sure to be gone on the first day.

"It is nerve-racking, but all you can do is wait, hope it happens and wait for your name to be called."

Pettigrew is not the only East Texan awaiting the draft, others include Tatum's Stephen Hodge, Lufkin's Jovorskie Lane, and San Augustine's Dominique Edison.
