TYLER, TX (KLTV) - It was all about the kids in Tyler Saturday.  At the Broadway Square Mall parents and kids went booth to booth, learning rules of safety, how to improve well-being, and the importance of being involved in your community.  Representatives from law enforcement, schools and different community leaders turned out to teach the kids.

Jim Cleveland, an event organizer says the event takes a long term look at helping the children.

"It's all about the kids we wouldn't be a community without them, and we certainly wouldn't have a future without them, and the thought that there's a child out there that is not growing up in a safe loving home, well you know, it's something we'd love to be able to put an end to," said Cleveland.  There has been good progress on the battle against child abuse.  In Smith County alone last year, 80 children were removed from abusive homes and placed in foster care.
