TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The new unemployment figures are out, and once again they don't look good.  The unemployment rate now sits at 8.3%, which adds up to 13.2 million people out of work, so we wanted to know, is today's competitive job market killing casual Friday.

"I hope it doesn't go away," said Suddenlink Communication Director Skip Ogle.  "We have a lot of fun with it."  Suddenlink employees sported their jeans and polo's Friday afternoon.  Overall, East Texans say they don't think casual Friday will go away anytime soon.

"I don't really feel that here," said Suddenlink employee Wes Stripling.  "I feel people are pretty comfortable within this company as a whole.  I don't see people stressing about what they wear all the time."

"I don't think there is a threat to casual Friday with the market, but I don think you need to step it up if you're looking for a job," said Goodwill Industries of East Texas Manager Shannon Carter.  "I think that's where it's competitive, you know, you shouldn't show up for an interview in jeans and flip flops, and I've actually seen that."  We want to know what you think.  Is casual Friday dying?  Please leave your comments below.
