WebXtra: Searching for a few plants revealed huge marijuana find

By Morgan Chesky - bio | email

It began as a routine search for a few marijuana plants but a few quickly turned into a few thousand. Authorities are calling the find one of the largest operations they've ever seen. Along the banks of the Neches River where water is plentiful, farmers used vast irrigation systems to fuel the marijuana plants, to give them nourishment. A crew of 50 men is estimated to have lived on site for the entire six month growing season.

After finding such vast quantities of marijuana growing on the site, the Van Zandt authorities have contacted the DEA who will be clearing up the area, but they say it could take weeks, even months before every marijuana plant is eradicated and sometimes they'll always grow back despite your best efforts.
