Jacksonville's Hoffpauir selected for MLB team roster

JACKSONVILLE, TX (KLTV) - Jacksonville's Micah Hoffpauir continues to be one of Major League Baseball's rising stars.

On Monday, Micah was named to the Chicago the Cubs' Opening Day roster.

The 29-year-old former Jacksonville High School Indian and Lon Morris Bearcat was batting .295 during the spring and led MLB with 22 RBIs. He leads the Cubs with five home runs.

As a first baseman, Micah made his major league debut last season with the Cub and in 33 games for Chicago batted .342.
