Longview, TX (KLTV)  A gruesome discovery this afternoon, as Longview police find the body of a man shot dead in his home. It happened around 12:37 Sunday at a home in the 300 block of Craig street in south Longview. Family and friends thought something might be wrong with 26 year old Harry Lee Beall junior when they found the front door to his home open.

"We got a call from some family and friends who had found a dead body at 307 Craig street," said officer Kevin Brownlee of the Longview police.

When police arrived, they found Beall dead of at least one gunshot wound. It is undetermined how long he'd been there.

"It appears right now he suffered from a single gunshot wound.  The investigation is ongoing so we don't know if there are an additional injuries," Brownlee says.

There are no leads right now, but police are talking to neighbors and family members. One thing that interested police was an out of place set of tire tracks along side Beall's home. Investigators hope someone noticed something, anything that went on at the home in the past few days, that might shed light on the shooting.

"I don't have any motive, any information since the investigation is ongoing," says Brownlee.

Longview police have no suspects at this time in the possible robbery-murder.

Neighbors say Beall was on disability and had lived at the home all his life. Anyone with any information on the case is asked to call Longview police.
