HOLLYWOOD, CA (KTRE) - The Top 10 finalists will perform Wednesday, not Tuesday, due to the President's televised news conference Tuesday night.

This week finalists Michael Sarver and his fellow Idol hopefuls will perform songs made famous by Motown artists. Former Idol Ruben Studdard will perform his new single, "Together." Motown legend Smokey Robinson is also scheduled to perform one of his classics.

The two hour performances will be held on Wednesday. Immediately following, America has another chance to share its voice and vote for their favorite finalists. The results will be given on Thursday. The Top 10 are Michael Sarver, Danny Gokey, Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert, Lil Rounds, Scott MacIntyre, Megan Joy Corkrey, Anoop Desai and Matt Giraud.

East Texas native Michael Sarver hit the bottom three contestants last week on American Idol.  It was the Round Two elimination. By the show's end Michael was one of two contestants left standing. He dodged the bullet and Alexis Grace was eliminated, making her the third contestant sent home this season.

A total of 31 million votes were received last Tuesday night for all 11 contestants. America gave Sarver enough "yes" votes to keep him going. It should have been a big vote of confidence, especially after Tuesday night's critique of Sarver by the judges.

Randy Travis was the week's mentor, so each contestant selected and performed a song made popular by Opry members. The first singer to take the stage was Sarver with his rendition of 'Ain't Goin' Down 'Til The Sun Comes Up' by Garth Brooks. All four judges said his performance fell short of their expectations, however, America's votes kept Sarver in the running.
