UPDATE: Kidnapping suspect in custody

UPDATE: 04:49pm: Nacogdoches Police have taken Luis Antonio Gallegos into custody, and say the two children, Luis and Laiza Gallegos, have been recovered unharmed.

Officers found the suspect and children Tuesday afternoon at a residence on Nacogdoches County Road 521 (Briarforest). 

Gallegos has been arrested on a violation of probation warrant, and other charges are pending at this time. The suspect will be taken to the Nacogdoches County Jail after processing.

 

UPDATE 04:21pm: Police have suspect, Luis Antonio Gallegos in custody and say that the children are unharmed. We have a crew on the scene and will continue to bring you the latest information.

 

UPDATE 03:31pm: The Gallegos and the children may be traveling in a 1991 white Toyota Corolla 4 door (described as being in poor condition). Texas license plate number 289 ZDT. They are possibly enroute to the Houston area.

 

UPDATE 02:46pm: Police have received information that suspect, Luis Antonio Gallegos and the missing children may be traveling in a blue passenger car of unknown make or model.

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KLTV) - A Regional Amber Alert has been issued by Nacogdoches police for suspect, Luis Antonio Gallegos.

According to police, the suspect did not have custody of the two children who were taken by force. Police believe that the suspect's children, Laiza Gallegos, 4, and Luis Antonio Gallegos, 2, may be in immediate danger.

Luis Gallegos is a hispanic male, 5'7" tall, 165 pounds and 22-years-old. Police warn that he may be armed with a knife.

A vehicle was recovered having been abandoned in Nacogdoches County off of state Highway 21 East early Tuesday afternoon.
