GREGG COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A fired East Texas juvenile corrections officer has been arrested and charged for sexual misconduct with female juveniles.

30-year-old Johnny Jackson III was arrested in Marion County on Monday. He has been charged with sexual performance by a child, induced by an adult.

Jackson was put on administrative leave from the Gregg County juvenile detention facility in January after a 17-year-old female inmate alleged he made sexual gestures to her. Two other juvenile girls came forward with similar allegations.

After an investigation, the Gregg County juvenile detention center fired Jackson, and Gregg County sheriff's issued an arrest warrant. A compliance specialist for the Gregg County juvenile detention center says Jackson passed their background checks.

"There was no indication upon the time of hiring that anything like this would ever happen, with our former employee," said Erin Jones. "He passed the local state and federal criminal background checks, he'd never been on probation or parole."

Jackson had been an officer with the juvenile facility for about three years. He is out on bond, and the case has been forwarded to the Gregg County district attorneys office.
