TITUS, COUNTY - Martin Glen Crocker, 48, of Marietta was arrested and booked into the Titus County jail on Tuesday on a charge of murder.

Crocker was arrested on an outstanding capias after his recent indictment by the Titus County grand jury in the August 2005 shooting death of William Joe Baker, then 41.

Crocker, who was working outside the U.S. at the time of the indictment, was arrested by U.S. Marshals after returning from Iraq, where he was deployed while working for Red River Army Depot.

Titus County sheriff's officials notified the U.S. Marshals and U.S. State Department authorities of the outstanding capias for Crocker's arrest after his indictment, and he was arrested after returning to the United States and extradited to Titus County.

Crocker was indicted for the shooting death of William Joe Baker, who Titus County sheriff deputies found dead of multiple gunshot wounds on the front porch of Crocker's residence on County Road 3435 in August 2005.

Titus County sheriff's deputies were alerted by a 911 call to Crocker's residence after Anita Baker, William Joe Baker's ex-wife, reported a possible disturbance at Crocker's residence involving Mr. Baker.

Crocker's bond has been set at $500,000.00 by Titus County Justice of the Peace Kay McNutt.
