East Texas based bank accepts TARP funds

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - An East Texas based bank has accepted Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP funds from the federal government. According to the U.S. Treasury Department. Texas National Bancorporation, which owns Texas National Bank got $3.9 million.

We spoke to one of the bank's executive vice presidents, who said their regulating agency has listed them in stable condition. He said they qualified for this loan from the federal government. The bank says they are using the money to grow their bank. For example, things like building new branches. As far as we could tell, this is the only bank headquartered in East Texas that has accepted TARP funds.
