Members and friends of Christ Central Church in Lindale formally dedicated their new building, Sunday.
During the service, State Representative Leo Berman and Congressman Louie Gohmert presented the congregation with two American flags, each flown in honor of the church atop the state and nation's capitol buildings.
But it was the state of the nation and the issue of illegal immigration that had Rep. Berman considering a possible run for the governor's seat.
"If we can't get anything done about illegal aliens during the next session of the legislature, which starts next January, then I will announce my candidacy for governor of Texas," he said.
Berman said he feels no senior elected official has stepped up to address the issue properly at this time.
