
Monday night, KLTV 7 Sports learned Jacksonville head football coach Randy Copeland will leave the Indians to become to take the assistant high school prinicipal job with Arp.
Arp superintendent Tony Lowery told KLTV the school board approved the recommendation and Copeland accepted the position. Lowery says Copeland will begin his duties as assistant principal Tuesday morning, almost immediately. He confirmed that plans for Copeland to return to Arp had been in the works for more than a week.
Copeland joined Jacksonville in March 2003. Before making the move, he served as football coach of Arp High School.
Jacksonville ISD will begin an immediate search for Copeland's replacement.
