AMES, Iowa (AP) - Marquis Gilstrap scored 8 of his 17 points in double overtime and Iowa State held off Houston 82-75 on Sunday afternoon for its fourth straight win.
Lucca Staiger had 18 points and Craig Brackins added 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Cyclones (10-3), who outscored the Cougars 13-6 in the second overtime period to pick up their fourth straight win.
Houston's Maurice McNeil hit a putback with 1.7 seconds left to force overtime, and Iowa State's Diante Garrett hit a layup to force another OT.
Gilstrap then put the Cyclones on his shoulders, hitting three quick buckets to put Iowa State ahead 78-71 with 1:44 left.
Aubrey Coleman, the nation's leading scorer entering Sunday, had 28 points and nine rebounds for Houston (7-6), which lost its third straight.
