TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Tuesday, the manufacturer of the "special made H1N1 vaccine intended for young children", is recalling 800,000 doses.

Health officials say it has nothing to do with the safety of the vaccine. The vaccines are not strong enough to protect against the virus. They were intended for children between six months to three years.

The Northeast Texas Public Health District said they did receive a few hundred doses of this vaccine. They say it is not clear how many they have given out, but parents do not need to be alarmed because young children must get a follow up booster shot.

"The children will still get the same immune response," said George Roberts, with the Northeast Texas Public Health District. "They are also going to get two doses so there is not a need to re-vaccinate people, but we are taking the step to remove this vaccine."

if you have any questions regarding this recall, call the Northeast Texas Public Health District H1N1 hotline with any questions: 1-877-244-9641.
