FLINT, TX (KLTV) - Whether its across the street or across the country, Thanksgiving brings families together, but here in East Texas, many go right through the holiday and into the next alone. One East Texas family decided to change that and today they invited those without a family to join theirs.
The doors at Tyler's Cafe opened a bit later than usual today, but when they did, the festive feast began. New restaurateurs Hank and Amy Tyler decided thanksgiving would be at their place this year, and everyone's invited.
The meal was provided courtesy of Tyler family teamwork. Hank sliced the turkey in the front, while his brother basted reinforcements in the back. It didn't take long for visitors to arrive, piling Tyler's homemade sweet potatoes, dressing, and plenty of turkey on top of plates, Thanksgiving abundance not everyone is able to enjoy.
The hardworking family won't have much of break after feeding hungry East Texans. They're inviting everyone to start their black Friday off right with a hearty breakfast. The café opens up tomorrow bright and early at three a.m.
