SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A five-year-old Lewisville, Texas child is dead and several people injured following a traffic accident Sunday afternoon on Highway 31 West at FM 2661 in Smith County.

DPS says Liam Robert Hilton was a passenger in a car driven by 59-year-old Connie Hilton Werling of Tyler. The boy died from his injures the following morning at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

Werling was stopped at a red light when she was rear ended by a pickup truck driven by 17-year-old Cody Lee Wyatt of Chandler. The impact forced Werling's car into the vehicle in front of her. Both Wyatt and Hilton are hospitalized in Tyler. A passenger in the third vehicle was also injured and is hospitalized.
