AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Legislators will consider duties of a revamped forensic commission and the status of the case of executed convicted killer Cameron Todd Willingham.
The new chairman of the Texas Forensic Science Commission, Williamson County District Attorney John Bradley, planned to appear Tuesday before the Senate Criminal Justice Committee.
Willingham in 2004 was executed over a 1991 fire in Corsicana that killed his three daughters. He maintained his innocence. Some scientists recently questioned the arson evidence.
Some relatives of Willingham's ex-wife say he confessed to her that he set the fire.
Gov. Rick Perry in September replaced three members of the commission.
