TYLER, TX - Early Thursday morning, at about 4:23am, Tyler Police responded to 617 W Front Street on a reported burglary in progress. A concerned citizen had called 911 and reported loud noises coming from outside this business. 

Officers arrived on the scene and observed two subjects run from behind the business. Officers pursued these two suspects on foot and were able to detain them. Additional Officers at the business observed that the suspects had attempted to use a sledge hammer to gain entry to the store.

Roderick Rainey, 21 of Tyler and Brandon Gordon, 22 of Tyler were booked into the Smith County Jail for Attempted Burglary and Evading Detention. A third suspect is still outstanding. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1000.
