
Released by Assistant Chief of Police Ladena Baggett with the Corsicana PD:
On October 20, 2009, at approximately 6:35 p.m. officers from the Corsicana Police Department responded to a report of shots fired at the apartments at 685 S. 42nd Street, near the campus of Navarro College. Victim, Jeremiah Blair, 21 years of age, was subsequently flown to Parkland Hospital in Dallas for treatment of gunshot wounds.
The Criminal Investigation Unit, under the direction of Sgt. Paul Jock and lead investigator Dan McAninch, immediately began an extensive investigation pursuing leads and reviewing potential evidence. The investigation has lead to the arrest of suspect, Darrick Bailey, 19 years of age, for Aggravated Robbery. Bailey was arrested last night, November 2nd, by Seagoville Police Department. Bailey was transported this morning from Seagoville to Corsicana, by Navarro County Sheriff's Department, and is cooperating with detectives as the investigation continues. Detectives anticipate additional arrests will be made in this case.
