FRISCO, Texas (AP) - FC Dallas has fired general manager Michael Hitchcock, who ran the front office for the last four years.
Hitchcock's dismissal was announced Tuesday by team owner Clark Hunt.
FC Dallas reached the playoffs twice under Hitchcock's management and was 48-47-27 during the regular season.
Hunt said he appreciated Hitchcock's efforts, calling him "an outstanding ambassador for FC Dallas during his time with the club."
The team will hire a technical director to assist coach Schellas Hyndman in running the team's daily operations.
