TYLER, TX - Not many people are aware that lung disease is the number three killer in the United States, responsible for one in six deaths, according to the American Lung Association.
In addition, more than 35 million Americans live with lung diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema, and chronic bronchitis.
If you have one of these illnesses, or you want to learn how to protect your lungs and prevent disease, the 2009 Better Breathing Conference is for you.
The conference will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Biomedical Research Center Auditorium on the campus of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler, at the intersection of Texas 155 and U.S. 271 in Tyler.

In addition, there will be exhibits, screenings, and educational presentations. The conference is free, but space is limited and reservations are required. A complimentary lunch and valet parking will be provided.
