SUGAR LAND, Texas (AP) - Police in a Houston suburb shot and killed a fleeing bank robbery suspect after he allegedly pointed a gun at an officer.
The Houston Chronicle reports Sugar Land police haven't released the name of the dead man or the officer who shot him.
Police spokesman Doug Adolph said the shooting happened just after 9 a.m. Tuesday after a Wachovia Bank branch was robbed.
The man then fled in a silver 2008 Nissan Altima down U.S. 59.
An officer spotted the car and pulled the suspect over. Authorities said the man pulled a gun, aimed at the officer who fired at least once, killing the suspect.
Police recovered a gun and an undisclosed amount of cash.
