LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - U.S. marshals and border patrol are on the lookout for a man accused in three deaths in a May 29 wreck near Diboll, a spokesman for the Department of Public Safety said.

According to spokesman Greg Sanches, Vincente Gonzalez, 30, of Corrigan, shaved his head before leaving a Houston hospital on June 8 in an attempt to disguise himself.

In a story which ran on KTRE.com on June 17, DPS was aware Gonzalez had left the hospital and expected to make arrangements for his arrest.

Crystal Thomas' mother, Belinda Thomas, said more should be done to track down Gonzalez. "Somebody needs to tell me why," said Belinda Thomas. "I'm not going to cry, I have done my crying, but I intend to see that somebody is held accountable and responsible for this."

"Either somebody picked him or he left on his own," said Sanches. "More than likely somebody picked him up."

Greg Sanches, DPS spokesperson, said DPS is doing every thing they can to find Gonzales. Sanches said he feels for the family.

Gonzalez is charged with three counts of intoxicated manslaughter and one count of intoxicated assault.

Gonzalez has been charged with at least one DWI, in 1999. He was also booked in the Angelina County Jail in 2006 for a Liberty County warrant on a charge of driving with a license suspended.

Willy Lacy, 48, of Alto, and Crystal Thomas, 29, of Lufkin, died on the scene and Crystal Thomas' son, Christopher Gross, 4, died June 5 in a Dallas hospital.

Lacy and Thomas' son, Jovair Thomas, was injured in the wreck.
