Winter Storm Watch in effect from near sunset Friday into early Saturday morning.
Clear skies this evening into some of tonight before increasing clouds roll in late. Friday morning may start with a touch of freezing drizzle or light freezing rain in southern sections from the metro with a light glaze possible.
During the morning into the afternoon, temperatures will warm above freezing for mainly just cold rain for the region. Areas further north could stay as a wintry mix. Rain will change to snow heading into Friday evening with a narrow 30 to 40 mile band setting up in our region producing moderate to heavy snowfall.
Most of the metro should see at least 2 inches of snow but some spots could see near 4 inches of wet snow. Further east to northeast from the KC metro, a zone of 4 to upwards of 7 inches of snow will be possible.
