EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Michael Jackson friends and fans are making an effort to pay tribute to and "immortalize" the 'King of Pop'.
Sunday, Reverend Al Sharpton, president of the National Action Network, made his proposal.
"After Tuesday, we are going sit, we are going to campaign to have Michael historically put where he belongs," said Sharpton. "The process should start that there be a United States postage stamp committed to the memory and life and history of Michael Jackson."
Sharpton isn't the only one with hopes of commemorating Jackson's life. At the pop star's memorial Tuesday, Texas Democrat, Sheila Jackson Lee, unveiled House Resolution 600 and pledged to pass the tribute to honor the pop star. The proposal would recognize Michael Jackson as "an American legend and musical icon." Not everyone is on board with the proposal, thought. GOP Representative, Peter King, says Jackson is a "pervert" and he'll do "whatever" he has to, to oppose the legislation.
What do you think about these proposals? Do you think Michael Jackson should be "immortalized?" If it were up to you, what would you do to pay tribute to Michael Jackson? Tell us your opinion.
