KLTV 7 has learned new information of a solicitation arrest involving a minor that landed an East Texas coach behind bars. The New Diana coach and teacher is accused of sending a 15-year old Union Hill student text messages to meet for sex.

39 year old John Tiger is charged with online solicitation and is currently in an Upshur County jail on $500,000 bond. Tiger was arrested Saturday. KLTV 7's LaKecia Shockley has more on how the girl's mother helped officers make the arrest.

The mother wouldn't go on camera with us, but she did tell us how she helped trap Tiger.

It all started last week when the mother says she took her daughter's cell phone and pretended to be her daughter, replying to Tiger's text.

She then set up a meeting with Tiger. The mother says through the text messages, Tiger asked her if they could meet at her house in Union Hill for sex.

After Tiger took the bait, authorities arrested him on a street in front of her house Saturday night. The mother says Tiger met her daughter when he worked for Union Hill High School.

Tiger is currently a coach at New Diana High School, and officials there tell us they continue to monitor the situation.

"We do take the charge seriously and we don't want that type of behavior in our schools. I will tell the parents right now it doesn't seem to involve any of the kids at New Diana, and we're taking measures to insure that," said Patrick Clark, the superintendent at New Diana.

Right now, Tiger is on paid administrative leave. The schools says if Tiger is found guilty he could lose his teaching license.

According to the girl's mother, Tiger had been sending the text messages for a year.

She says because Tiger never texted what she referred to as 'super-explicit' words the mother never had concrete evidence before this to give authorities.
