Arp's Jackson Huse Passes Away

The Following is a commentary by KLTV 7 Sports Director Maya Golden

Sad news in the Arp community.

Seven-year-old Jackson Huse of Arp has passed away. Jackson had a long battle with brain cancer.

He was an inspiration for his favorite basketball team, the Arp Tigers. Jackson's battle cry against cancer became the team's motto of "Bring It On." When Jackson learned he had what he called a "brain weed" he shouted those inspiring words.

Hundreds of strangers, Arp Tiger fans, and caring East Texans donated to help with Jackson's medical bills. School children created encouraging banners and even a quilt to keep Jackson's spirts up during his fight with cancer.

Jackson Huse will be missed. Our prayers are with his family.
