Tyler's Fambrough To Pit in Nextel Cup Race

For the past two seasons, KLTV has followed Tyler's C.J. Fambrough on the racing circuit. C.J. is a tire changer for Joe Gibbs Racing.

This weekend, C.J. will pit in his very first Nextel Cup Race.

C.J. learned Monday morning that he will be the front tire changer for Denny Hamlin's number 11 FedEx car for the last two cup races in Phoenix and Homestead.

KLTV 7 Sports caught up with C.J. Monday afternoon by phone.

"It is really neat," he said. "It's a great opportunity and I'm fortunate to have it. I'm excited I'm a little bit nervous but I know what to expect and I know what I've got to do."

C.J. says there will be a few differences between pitting on the Busch series and for the Nextel Cup.

"Timing," he said, "and I will be working with a whole new crew I've never worked with and there's a lot more pit stops. In a Busch race you get three to four pit stops at the most. In Phoenix, at the Cup race, we could possibly do nine, ten, eleven pit stops just depends on cautions and how everything is going."
