She's won praise from fans, critics and now the state congress.  Wednesday, state lawmakers were on hand in Lindale to recognize Miranda Lambert for her rise to the top of the country music charts.

It's been a long road since Lambert finished third in the Nashville Star competition four years ago.  Since then, her first album Kerosene has sold more than a million copies. Last month she was awarded New Female Vocalist of The Year by the Academy of Country Music.  Wednesday, in her hometown of Lindale, State Representative Tommy Merritt presented Miranda with a Texas House Resolution.

"Just growing up in East Texas was really good for me and really showed me who I was and has enabled me to make decisions along this crazy road that I've been on for the last six years," said Lambert.

What a busy six years it has been, especially last month when Lambert made appearances on shows like The View and The Tonight Show promoting her new album Crazy Ex Girlfriend.

"The month of May has been packed full of media and really not my normal life," said Lambert.  "My normal life is being on tour and playing three or four shows a week, and then being home a couple of days."

She'll be back on the stage soon enough.  Tomorrow she begins touring with Toby Keith until September.
