TJC World Series Champs!

It took an extra game and an extra day, but the number one ranked TJC Apaches baseball team accomplished their season long goal today by winning the NJCAA Division III World Series Championship.  They beat Joliet Community College out of Illinois today 13-5.  It was the third time they played Joliet this tournament.  They beat the Wolves in dramatic fashion Tuesday night 6-5 to advance to the championship game.  Joliet then returned the favor yesterday 9-3 to force a desicive final game.  The Apaches broke out to a 7-0 lead, before the Wolves hit a grand slam to pull within three.  TJC would continue to add to their lead, finally winning 13-5.  Apaches third baseman Brock LeMire was named tournament MVP.  Michael LaCourse, Jordan Rutenbar and Jose Molina were also named to the all-tournament team.  It's the first baseball national championship for the Apaches.
